NYFW SS20: Street Style Recap

New York Fashion Week may have come and gone, but the newest runway styles are ready for you to start accessorizing! This was my 13th year in the Fashion Industry, and every season I experience a new way to do Fashion Week. I attended the B & H Tezza video editing event two nights before Fashion Week started and learned about so many new editing techniques for videos (Editing E-Book coming soon)!

Let’s talk Street Style…

Silk Skirts + T-shirts

One of the trends that we have been seeing a lot of is the graphic t-shirt with a colorful silk skirt. Of course, I started off my season trending this look: the classic hot pink silk skirt with a tucked in NYC T-shirt, Gucci belt, black blazer with feathers at the waist, my favorite Jimmy Choo heels, the perfect NYC Kate Spade purse, and topped it off with a large, raised, black and cubic zirconia headband! This outfit was inspired by Gossip Girls Favorite Upper East Sider, Blair Waldorf and my favorite Sex and the City girlie, Carrie Bradshaw. What do you think?!

Plaid Suit + Sneakers

My next look was a beautiful navy and red with gold embellishments plaid blazer and matching pants by Trina Turk. I paired this with my white Kate Spade cross body purse, tossed on my Fila Sneakers on, grabbed my Alice & Olivia sunglasses and placed in some fun pearl hair clips. I took some beautiful photos with Getty Images outside Spring Studios.

Purple was one of my least favorite colors to wear, but lately violet and lilac have worked their way into my wardrobe. I found these beautiful jogger, island style pants by Trina Turk in lilac designed in a beautiful crepe fabric. I went hunting for a unique textured purple sweater to match! I ended up falling in love with this look once I added the oh so trendy hot pink 90s hair clips in my hair, my NYCeBlu hot pink and silver cross body purse and the best Oscar De La Renta white and hot pink painted stilettos to top off the outfit.

Animal Print + Layering

We cannot always control the weather, and one of the show days I woke up and it was slightly chillier then my outfit was ready for. Thank goodness for the layering trend! I added a light weight, sheer, black long sleeve shirt under my faux leather snakeskin, tailored romper. Sometimes you have to be ready to improvise and go with the flow of the outfit. Instead wearing black heels, I gave it a slight cowboy feel by paring it together with black booties and a fringe purse. To top off this trendy outfit, I added my brand new Fendi, mirror and pearled sunglasses!IMG_1911

Bright + Classy

I let out my inner unicorn and paired together a very classic blue, button down shirt that had beautiful puffed sheer sleeves with bubble gum pink tailored dress shorts. If I didn’t already look like a wonderful swirl of cotton candy, I added in my white Kate Spade purse, the large black headband and my favorite Steve Madden Swavorski Crystal Unicorn boots! If you ever feel as magical as I did in this outfit, then you know you styled yourself to your own unique trend! Go for it, be bold, and dare to be different!

Bright Colored Blazer + Matching Shorts

I have always been a Barbie girl in my own Barbie world, but I took that to a whole new level in my cropped hot pink blazer and matching tailored shorts this season! I added in my Sam Edelman knee high white leather boots, Steve Madden white sunglasses, pearled hair clips and the one and only Betsey Johnson cell phone purse! I went very out of my comfort zone for this look and styled my hair up instead of my usual down look.

Blazers + Biker Shorts

I sadly did not get a great photo in this look, but it wouldn’t be fashion week if I didn’t wear my bubble gum pink boxy Lover & Friends blazer. I tossed on a white Vogue t-shirt, fila sneakers with what felt like a child’s ruffle sock, biker shorts and my Gucci inspired belt bag. I added my Trendy, Ambitious, Blonde hair clips and hot pink earrings to break up the color! Find yourself a good pair of biker shorts that you can dress up or dress down. I love mine from Lovers & Friends!

Rompers + Booties

Each season, my husband joins me for the last show of New York Fashion Week. This year we coordinated our outfits to bring in an Earthy, designer Army look. I wore a pilot inspired romper in army green by Kendall + Kylie with my Gucci belt to keep the outfit more feminine fitted. I added in my Kenneth Cole white booties, pearl hair clips and my new favorite purse by Yuzefi. Lee wore a black and army green ombre button down by Kenneth Cole, Black jeans and Steve Madden suede Chelsea boots. Yep, we clean up nice!

The most important thing to remember while styling your outfits is to be YOUnique! Everyone can just take the runway styles to the street, but bring in your own personal charm. Show off your own style and be who you are!
